FOUNDER/ CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Nasseam “The Therapy Doula” James has a long history of service to the people in Florida. She is the founder of The Therapy Doula Wellness and Consulting Group, LLC where she advocates for equitable solutions for addressing the social determinants of health that impact birth outcomes. She is also the Executive Director for a community based care and family services organization. Nasseam has served in various executive leadership roles over the past 17 years and has committed her career to support the lives of families and birthing people across the childbearing and reproductive continuum.
Nasseam took on the name “The Therapy Doula” because she is a full spectrum doula and child birth educator as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. In addition she is trained in child and parent psychotherapy and is a certified Parenting Educator so her practice focuses on supporting individuals and caregivers in the prenatal and postpartum period as well as their families. Nasseam sees her work as a radical charge to help change the landscape for maternal, infant, and early childhood outcomes by recreating the village for young families. She hopes to always find herself in spaces that support birthing people and their families.
